PREPARE
CHOOSE YOUR STYLE

Picking your perfect style is a big deal! Here are a couple things to consider when narrowing down your ideas:

1. AVOID Pinterest if at all possible. You chose me as your stylist for a reason! Please use references from my work either through my website or Instagram page. Pinterest can create false hope. Most of these hairstyles are posed images where the model's hair is full of extensions and/or had several hours to create the style.

2. Consider your length, texture + density. Everyone's hair is different! Please make sure you are selecting a style that is attainable for your hair type. If you are considering extensions, please consult with me prior.

3. Don't forget about your dress, hair pieces + veil! You may want to select a style that is conducive to your dress' style. Is it open-back? Halter? Straps or strapless? No matter the design, your hair should not interfere with your dress. If you have a veil or hair piece, keep in mind that your hair may not stay perfect if something like that is removed throughout the evening. Make sure to bring these items to your trial to ensure we come up with a foolproof plan!

TEST RUN
YOUR TRIAL

Let's get to know each other! The trial is extremely important to planning out your dream wedding day hairstyle. Let's go over some trial do's and don'ts:

1. Do schedule your trial 1-3 months out from your wedding. Trials that happen before that timeframe are possible but advised against. Your ideas could change several times depending on how long your engagement is. This also ensures your look is fresh in my mind + yours! We will take plenty of pics as well!

2. Do come with plenty of ideas, screenshots, hair pieces, and your veil if at all possible! Another helpful tip is to wear a top/dress that is similar to the style/cut as your wedding dress. This is so you can see what your hair will look like with said style/neckline. Also bring any accessories you want to see with your finished look! (ie- earrings, necklace, etc.)

3. Don't come with dirty hair. Most people confuse dirty hair with hair that has product in it. Dirty hair does not style better! Please do not believe this myth! I can easily add more product to "dirty" it up, but if you haven't washed your hair in several days, no amount of dry shampoo will fix it, and your style will look gunky + feel heavy. This is my #1 rule for styling wedding hairClean + dry hair is a must. Hair should be washed and blow dried within 24 hours. Do your normal hair washing regimen. Adding new or foreign product to your hair could cause unwanted dryness, oiliness, texture, and more! Your bridal stylist (me!) and your hair will thank you.

4. Don't stress! This is simply a trial run, and if adjustments need to be made, we will make them until we get it right. Please consider this a "test-run" of your style. Trial does not mean you are trying me out as a stylist. You can only book your trial after signing your agreement + paying your non-refundable deposit. As mentioned above, you chose me for a reason! I pride myself in making everyone feel beautiful on their special day and yours is no different.

EXECUTE
WEDDING DAY

It's here!!! The day you have been planning for and dreaming of for days, months + maybe even years! Here are some crucial steps to make your big day a breeze:

1. Show up on time. You and I will work out a day-of schedule ahead of time and we need to stick to it as close as possible. I know you will have other vendors (such as your planner, photographer, makeup artist, etc.) who will have a tentative schedule as well. The number one recipe for lateness is not starting on time. So, please be ready at the pre-determined start time! This goes for you and your entire bridal party. We need to keep a consistent flow + should not be waiting on anyone to arrive once the getting ready process has started. Flower girls may show up one hour before their projected start time.

2. See #3 above. COME WITH CLEAN HAIR. Tell your mom, tell your friends, tell your sister... Tell everyone! The bride and all bridal party members receiving hair services should have washed their hair within 24 hours of the wedding day + it is strongly encouraged to be blow dried as well. If anyone receiving hair services plans to wash their hair the night before or morning of, they are responsible for blow drying their own hair and this must be done before the scheduled start time. Wet hair will NOT be styled. Additionally, please do not sleep on wet hair. It 1) may not dry all the way and 2) will look smushed and disheveled. This means I will need to do additional prep work and take more time on your service, which would cause delays to our already tight schedule.

3. Enjoy + relax! I know, I know, it's easier said than done! But seriously... you will never get to relive this day again, so please promise me that you won't let stress overwhelm you! The wedding will not start without the bride + this is YOUR DAY. I am so so grateful to be just a small part of such an amazing memory in your life. Soak it all in + allow yourself to be pampered! You won't regret it!

RECOVER
POST-WEDDING HAIR CARE

A few tips + tricks to taking out your wedding hairstyle:

1. Gently remove as many bobby pins as possible. Turn on a curling iron to medium heat to warm up (this will make sense in a second- bear with me lol).

2. Once bobby pins have been removed, get out your curling iron and simply hold it near any elastics in your hair. The heat alone should snap the elastics right apart. This means no aggressive yanking + pulling out your hair! I have also heard tea tree oil works for this as well, but I personally haven't tried it.

3. Brush your hair. And then, brush it again. And then, ask your new spouse to give you a 5 minute scalp massage. Brushing + stimulating your scalp will help your hair recover, relieve stress + improve your overall mood. It's a win for many reasons! You can also use a scalp massager if you have one!
